Global solutions implemented at Valeo

The automotive industry continuously works against increased production and cost-effectiveness and striving to optimize its logistic chain. The new legislation regarding re-usable packaging that was passed in 2001, combined with the demand for cost effectiveness, prompted the French automotive supplier Valeo to analyse its logistic chain. One of the conclusions was to switch from cardboard to plastic containers crates.

Schoeller Arca Systems solution was a custom-made range of Euro containers that became the standard within all Valeo’s 150 production locations worldwide. The range of 13 stackable containers was developed in close collaboration with the R&D department at Valeo.

By standardizing the logistic- and supply chain with an identical range of plastic containers, efficiency was increased dramatically.
