Senior members of Carmakers, Tier One suppliers and other automotive industry members attended the Automotive Logistics Congress to discuss about their visions and overview of the actual market situation. Schoeller Arca Systems were one of the silver sponsors for this event which was held in Montreux from 3-5 March.
2009 obviously will be a challenging one for the automotive industry as well as for all other industries where innovation and clever supply change will be key factors.
"As global market leader in returnable packaging we have a strong connection with the Automotive Industry" says Guy Strijbosch, Corporate Marketing Manager and Roman Galuzska, Automotive Coordinator.
All different vehicle components and finished vehicles must be transported one way or another and packaging plays a major part in this process
With the current global economic climate it is proven that everyone in the supply chain are looking at cost saving opportunities.
Foldable returnable plastic containers can be part of this cost saving opportunity. Although packaging is not in the forefront of everyone’s mind, clever use of packaging does and can have an effect on the overall cost reduction activities right through the supply chain. Schoeller Arca Systems at the time redesigned and developed the actual VDA container which has become the standard container for the Automotive industry in many countries.
“The Automotive Logistics congress is a great opportunity to meet global players and to share visions during these difficult times.
The overall idea was nevertheless optimistic. People might delay the purchase of their car but eventually will pick up their new car from the garage".
An excellent congress with valuable presentations from Key speakers within the Automotive industry from companies such as Ford, World Economic Forum. Renault an many more.
